Mouserug rust Navajo

Rust Navajo Mouse Rug Adelaide Ludlam Waters traveled from Philadelphia to Fort Wingate, Arizona Territory, in 1866 to marry. When she returned to Pennsylvania in the 1870s, she brought back this serape-made to be worn wrapped around the shoulders. The serape must have been woven about the same time that Adelaide lived at the Fort. This was a time of great change in the lives of the Navajo. Between 1862 and 1868 they were interned at Fort Sumner and the Bosque Redondo. As their traditional lifestyles changed, so too did their weavings. New materials were introduced, such as yarns produced in Germantown, Pennsylvania, and new designs emerged taking advantage in the broad color palette of the Germantown yarns. The bands of crosses and chevrons are typical of this emerging new style. Each MouseRug is made up of more than 7 million nylon fibers, which serve to: Create an incredibly comfortable and soft mousing surface. Keep the mouse ball mechanism clean, practically eliminating the need for maintenance. Ground the mouse by drawing static electricity away, since the fibers are specially treated with a conductive finish. The MouseRug: Is more comfortable, more attractive, and more durable than any other mouse pad on the market today. Will last for many years with normal use and care and still maintain its original appearance and functionality. Is easy to clean it may be hand washed. Has a large mousing surface: 7" × 9" 7" x10½" including fringe Is made in the USA, manufactured entirely in Fort Collins, Colorado by FiberLok, Inc. Mfg: Mouse Rug. Mfg No: MRN1FKI.
